Geocent is unveiling their brand new Junior Achievement (JA) BizTown storefront on Monday, July 31. Last year, Geocent and its employees raised $21k. Those funds were distributed to the JA chapters in each office location.
The Geocent storefront will give students an inside look on how to run a Software Development company. Through the use of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Scratch program, the students acting as Software Developer(s) will work on multiple contracts. Once a contract is completed and approved, the manager can close out the contract for delivery and process payments.
"Geocent employees are committed to giving back, not only through our Annual Geocent Fundraiser, but also by volunteering in the communities we live and work in," said Joy Stuart, Geocent Community Involvement Chair. "I always say if we can get an employee to come to one of our company volunteer events, we usually have a volunteer for life, because they always come back!"
